Scotland's Mid West - Crinan Canal

The Crinan Canal was built for trading boats and pleasure boats to avoid the long voyage around the south end of the Kintyre peninsula. It links the Clyde Estuary with the west coast. It is a pretty drive and the canal is mostly used for recreation purposes now. We stopped at the Crinan Lock which has an unusual bridge.
